Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how SteamLine (the “Service”), an independent Discord application, handles information when you install or use it. SteamLine is not affiliated with Discord Inc. or Valve Corporation.
Information we handle
Configuration data we store
- Discord user IDs used to associate auto-conversion and locale preferences with a user.
- Discord server and channel IDs used to identify configured servers, allowed channels and server locale preferences.
- The Discord user ID of the administrator who added an allowed channel.
- Short-lived cached Steam Store metadata, such as game names, prices, reviews and artwork URLs.
Information processed temporarily
When SteamLine receives a command or an eligible server message, it processes the message text to locate supported Steam Store links. Message bodies and modal submissions are not written to the SteamLine database.
Operational information
Server logs may contain Discord user, server, channel and message IDs, event counts, status codes and error types. SteamLine is designed not to log raw message content or Discord credentials.
Website information
This website does not use accounts, cookies, analytics, advertising pixels or browser storage. The hosting provider may process standard request information such as IP addresses, timestamps and user-agent strings for security and delivery.
How information is used
Information is handled only as needed to:
- find Steam Store links and create compact cards;
- apply user and server preferences;
- determine where automatic conversion is permitted;
- localise Steam pricing and language;
- prevent duplicate processing, maintain reliability and diagnose errors; and
- protect the Service from misuse.
SteamLine does not sell personal information, serve advertising or use information to build marketing profiles.
Retention
- User preferences remain until changed, reset or deleted following a valid request.
- Server configuration remains until changed or until SteamLine leaves that server, at which point its server configuration is deleted.
- Steam metadata is cached temporarily and replaced or removed after expiry.
- Operational logs are retained only for as long as reasonably needed for security, troubleshooting and service operation.
Your choices and rights
You can opt out of automatic conversion with /autoconvert disable and reset your locale override with /steam-preferences reset. Server administrators control channel configuration through the /steam-admin commands.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, restrict or object to processing, or complain to a data-protection authority. Contact the operator to make a request. Verification may be required to protect account data.
Security
Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect information, including restricted credentials, minimal data collection and containerised hosting. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Children
SteamLine is intended for people who are permitted to use Discord under Discord’s own age requirements. The Service is not directed to children below the minimum age required in their country.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the Service or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will be revised when material changes are published.
